Our Day at the Zoo

 

 

Yesterday N and I packed up the girls and went to the zoo! The day was muggy and hot but also sunny and very beautiful. It took us a long time to walk around due to all the heat and humidity. This is one of the few times that we decided not to trek up the big hill. Consequently, we missed out on seeing the reptiles, the monkeys, the cats and the fish. The seals weren't out either (a HUGE bummer for me since they are my absolute favorite). We concluded that we need to visit again when it's not so hot outside.

Despite the weather we had a nice visit. Little P enjoyed all the animals but spent most of her time chasing sparrows, like the ones we see right outside (go figure, lol). She also really liked the wolf statue and was disappointed she didn't get to see the real thing. Hopefully next time we can. I just hope she won't want to give the real thing a hug! C was excited to be out and about and was smiling and laughing most of the time. She was a real trooper in all of that heat.

N was excited to see the camels and I spent most of the time admiring the flowers. But mostly we were excited to watch the girls and see their reactions to things. It was great spending time together at the zoo. I can't wait to do it again soon :)

We're back to our letter lessons again. Today we learned R and S. We read Marcus Pfister's, Rainbow Fish. Then we completed worksheets to emphasize what we learned. I helped Little P trace and circle letters and she learned to share by giving each fish a shiny scale, like the Rainbow Fish in the book. 

It is going to be "Ready, Set Share" week at our house. We're all going to practice what we learned by sharing more of our toys and our time with each other. It won't be an easy task (for me either!) but it's important to share and to learn to have joy about doing so. Maybe with a little more selflessness and charity, we can learn to be happier little fishies too!

Celia Cat

She is still somewhat a work in progress. I planned on launching some outfits with her as well but I'm not entirely pleased with them yet. My Girls

It's been too long since I've posted pictures of these two!! They are growing like wildflowers, right in front of my eyes. I am always amazed how much they are changing, each and EVERY DAY.

Nora is so imaginative. She's always chatting up a storm and making up her own songs and games. Yesterday she told me to make up a story instead of reading her one. She always seems to be one step ahead. I wish I could borrow some of that energy and enthusiasm! Oh the things I could accomplish!!

Claire is always such a joy. She's always laughing and smiling and reaching out for things. I think she's getting ready to crawl. She's scooting and flopping all over the place. Pretty soon, I'll be chasing both of them around!

Oh how I love my two little ones. They always manage to amaze and amuse :)

Yay!! Here it is!! My grey and yellow afghan is finally done. I'm so excited to post the finished product!!

I completed this one ahead of schedule so I can breathe a sigh of relief. Now all I have to do is wait...oh crap. I hate waiting!! The baby shower's not until July...it's only the tail end of April...

I guess it's only fitting. After all, there is still lots of waiting to do until my little niece is born...

And although waiting can be hard the best things always seem to come with time ;)

Speaking of waiting...I'm getting anxious for Claire to crawl. 

It shouldn't be long now. She's been scooting and rolling all over the place. 

One of these days she's just going to take off!! I can't wait, oh how I can't wait!!
